Entrance to Northgate Boulevard at U.S. 301 Partially Closing at 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 18 and Monday, July 19
SARASOTA, FL (July 16, 2010) – The entrance to Northgate Boulevard at U.S. 301 (Washington Boulevard) will be partially closed starting at 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 18 and Monday, July 19 for the installation of a storm drain.
Even though the entrance will be partially closed, motorists will be able to access Northgate Boulevard and the businesses it serves from U.S. 301 in both directions while the storm drain is being installed. The storm drain work is not expected to impact traffic on U.S. 301.
This work is part of a project under which the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is upgrading and expanding a one mile long stretch of U.S. 301 between Myrtle Street and DeSoto Road.
The project connects with a 2.65-mile stretch of U.S. 301 between Myrtle Street and Wood Street that FDOT is upgrading and expanding under a separate contract. This project also includes the recently-completed expansion of southbound U.S. 41 between Osprey Avenue and the U.S. 41/U.S. 301 intersection from two to three lanes.
