Lane Closures Nightly on Northbound U.S. 301 Between Myrtle Street and 12th Street for Temporary Paving, Sun., Aug. 1 to Fri., Aug. 6
SARASOTA, FL (July 27, 2010) – Weather permitting, the outside northbound lane of U.S. 301 (Washington Boulevard) will be closed at different points between Myrtle Street and 12th Street from 6:30 pm to 6:00 am the following day, Sunday, August 1 through Friday, August 6 for installing a temporary asphalt travel lane. (This work was originally scheduled for the work week starting on Sunday, July 25 but had to be postponed).
The work will begin at Myrtle Street, with the exact location of the lane closure expected to change from night to night as the work progresses along U.S. 301 to 12th Street. The temporary lane is being installed in preparation for an upcoming traffic shift.
Motorists are reminded to exercise extra caution while driving through the U.S. 301 Downtown Sarasota construction zone which includes the stretches of U.S. 301 from Wood Street to Myrtle Street and U.S. 41 from Osprey Avenue to the U.S. 301/U.S. 41 intersection. The project is an initiative of the Florida Department of Transportation.
