Nightly Lane Closures Expected Along U.S. 301 from DeSoto Road to Myrtle Street, Sunday, July 25 to Friday, July 30
SARASOTA, FL (July 23, 2010) – Depending on the weather, one lane of southbound U.S. 301 (Washington Boulevard) between DeSoto Road and Myrtle Street is expected to be closed from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am the next day, Sunday, July 25 through Friday, July 30 for the installation of storm drains under the roadway.
The exact location of the lane closure is expected to change from night to night as the work progresses. Driveways leading to businesses along this stretch of southbound U.S. 301 will be kept open and accessible to motorists at all times while this work is underway. The operation should not impact traffic on northbound U.S. 301.
Motorists are reminded to use extra caution while driving through this one mile long Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) construction zone.
The project connects with a 2.65-mile stretch of U.S. 301 between Myrtle Street and Wood Street that is also being upgraded and expanded under a separate FDOT project.
For additional information on both of these FDOT projects, contact the Public Information Officer at 941-232-5590 or visit the Web site at <MyUS301Sarasota.com>.
