One U.S. 301 Southbound Lane from DeSoto Road to Myrtle Street Closing Each Evening, July 20 to 23
SARASOTA, FL (July 16, 2010) – One lane of southbound U.S. 301 (Washington Boulevard) between DeSoto Road and Myrtle Street will be closed from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am the next day, Tuesday, July 20 through Friday, July 23 for the installation of storm drains under the roadway.
The exact location of the lane closure will change from night to night as the work progresses. Driveways leading to businesses along this stretch of southbound U.S. 301 will be kept open and accessible to motorists at all times while this work is underway. The work will not impact traffic on northbound U.S. 301.
Motorists are reminded to exercise extra caution while driving through this Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) one mile long construction zone.
The project connects with a 2.65-mile stretch of U.S. 301 between Myrtle Street and Wood Street that is also being upgraded and expanded under a separate FDOT project.
